What To Expect

As a mum of two, I understand how crazy the early days with a new baby can be. Just the thought of leaving the house becomes and event in itself. That's why, as a Bracknell baby photographer, your photos will take place in the comfort of your own home. This allows me to capture the story of the early days of your growing family and will give you treasured memories to look back on. No impersonal studios; the backdrop to your baby's photos will be his or her own home. My biggest aim for your shoot is that this is a pleasurable, stress free experience that your will remember fondly when you look at the beautiful moment that we captured.

When you get in touch

We will arrange a time that suits you to have a chat about what you’re after from your shoot, get to know a bit more about you and your family, when you’re due, and answer any questions you have. This can be on the phone, in person over a cuppa or over messenger, whichever suits you best. This will absolutely not be salesy at all, that just not my style, just a friendly helpful chat. At this point, we will decide if you would like maternity photos as well, and pencil in a couple of dates around your due date.

Before your shoot

After you have booked, I will sent you my client guide which talks you through every stage of the process, gives you tips on what to wear and how to prepare for your shoot along with a guide to the wall art you can order to show your photos off to their full potential.

During the shoot

My approach is really relaxed and free-flowing, your shoot will be totally bespoke to you and will focus on documenting the moments, little and big, that are unique to your family’s story. I usually start by sitting on the floor playing with little brothers or sisters. This may sound strange but I find that once the little people are on board, the whole thing tend to go a whole lot smoother. Then I will guide you to the best light and get photographing. If baby is asleep and settled at this point, I might photograph them first. If not, we’ll do whole family shots first which generally involve a big snuggle and cuddle-totally painless! I also know that no baby is the same! Some babies cry, some like to be held, some are little milk monsters, and others will just sleep. so your shoot will go with the flow and be totally stress free.

Also, please remember that I really do want the whole experience to be a pleasant, relaxing one for you, so when baby is being photographed alone, please, please, please take the opportunity to sit down, put your feet up, have a hot cup of tea, check Facebook, close your eyes, anything that will give you a quick time out from the tornado of busyness that just hit your life in the last few weeks.

Afterwards

After the shoot is when the magic happens. I load your photos into my computer and sort out the ‘keepers’ from the ‘blinkers’, and start to work my editing magic. Within a few days of your shoot, I will post a couple of my faves from your shoot on my Facebook and Instagram pages to keep you going. And within 10 days I will have your gallery ready to view. I will send you a link to an online viewing gallery where you will be able to view your photos from the comfort of your own home.

Ordering your Wall Art

I’m very passionate about the wall art I sell - I love my wood blocks so much I have ordered them for my own family photos and displayed them in my home. These wooden block are really something special. Each one is made by hand with a lot of love and patience. Your image is printed with Fine Art archival pigment inks, which won't fade over time. This is then merged with the natural wooden block using a special procedure. The edges are rounded and the photos are covered with an acid-free protective layer which expands their lifespan and gives the appearance of brush strokes. They have an organic, natural, vintage feel to them, and as each block is made by hand, each will have its own unique look. The wooden blocks have a small hole on the back so you can hang them on the wall. or they can stand up on their own.They come in rectangle, square or circle shapes, or even better, a collage with a mixture of shapes and sizes, which really does make a feature wall out of where you hang them.

So What does it cost?

I believe in being open and honest about my pricing so that you can begin to plan your special shoot.

There is a session fee, payable on booking, of £75 for weekday shoots or £150 for weekend shoots.

This covers:

• Your pre-shoot consultation

• a preparation guide including outfit inspiration guide and styling advice

• your photoshoot, in your own home, bespoke to your family, to capture the spirit of your family

  This doe NOT include any images. These are purchased separately. After your shoot, you can view your lovingly edited images and purchase from the comfort of your own home via a private online gallery.
